West Sac has done a lot of work in the past few years to develop itself with new homes, lots of parks, and community areas that allow for a more relaxed lifestyle, with all of the perks of luxury.

If you’re ever in need of going to downtown Sacramento for any of the events or activities of a larger city, you’re only 10-20 minutes away! How convenient is that? What a luxury it is to be able to enjoy the qualities of a big city while being able to retreat to a slower-paced lifestyle. 

The Barn

Although downtown Sacramento might host a lot of events and activities, we have our own too! Here in Sacramento, one of our favorite spots is at Drake’s: The Barn. This spot is a great community gathering place, located close to the river and a short five-minute drive from The Strand Apartments.

At The Barn, you can enjoy food, beer, and lots of entertainment. Its unique design also makes it an architectural landmark in West Sacramento.

Depending on their schedule, you can enjoy live music or the skyline. It’s free to enjoy and everyone is welcome. Their next upcoming event is Smore’s and Stouts – how fun is that!

Play Ball!

Sacramento is home to many parks and recreational areas. Our favorite place to catch a game is at Sutter Health Park. This baseball stadium is the perfect place to be on a sunny day.

Aside from baseball, it also holds events like Cirque du Soleil. How cool is that! Stop by for crackerjacks or catch a show, whatever you’d like!

River Walk Park 

Another park nearby The Strand Apartments on Douglas street is The River Walk Park. This park is the perfect place to go to enjoy a scenic walk. West Sacramento is such a beautiful place to live and has lots of nature to enjoy.

Take a stroll through the park and across the Tower Bridge for unique views and a peaceful afternoon. Grab a friend and a picnic basket to make an afternoon out of it! This park is also a great spot if you’re looking for a nice path to jog or cycle on. This spot definitely makes the list of the top 7 reasons to live here in West Sacramento.

Looking for a better view of the nature around West Sac? Tree Top Sac has you covered. Head into the canopy of California Valley Oak trees to zipline across the sky.

This is a two-hour climb and zipline, featuring rope bridges and obstacles. Here, you can challenge your fears and test your agility among the trees! What a great way to adventure and try something new in West Sacramento. 

Take a Trip Back in Time 

Do you love classic cars? Head across the river to see some of the best classic cars around. At the California Automobile Museum, you can see 160 of the world’s most classic cars that you just don’t get to see on the streets anymore. Head over to take a guided tour of everything from ​​Hot rods, muscle cars, and race cars.
