BARNFLIX Powered by The Strand: A Free Outdoor Movie Series in West Sacramento

Cozy up along the riverside every other Wednesday night and select Sundays this summer for BARNFLIX powered by The Strand, a new luxury apartment community in West Sacramento. This is a free outdoor movie series that The Strand is proud to sponsor with Drake’s: The Barn. Join us as we screen films from across the ages on Drake’s jumbotron, ranging from family-friendly blockbusters to cinema classics.

The series kicked off on June 15th with the screening of “The Sandlot.” Other films on the schedule have included “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial,” “The Princess Bride,” “Jurassic Park,” and “The Shawshank Redemption.” and will wrap up on October 25th with The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Here are some tips for enjoying BARNFLIX:

  • Arrive early to get a good spot. The lawn fills up quickly, especially for popular movies.
  • Bring a blanket or lawn chair to sit on.
  • Bring snacks and drinks. There are food trucks and beer and wine sales at each event, but bringing your own can be more affordable.
  • Dress for the weather. It can get chilly at night, so bring a jacket or sweater.
  • Bring bug spray. Mosquitoes can be a problem, especially in the early evening.
  • Be prepared to have fun! BARNFLIX is a great way to spend a summer evening with friends and family.

See you there!
